OFFICERS OF THE
JACINTO CITY
FIRE DEPT.

The Fire Chief of the JCFD is Lon Squyres. Chief Squyres  is also the Emergency Management Official for the City. Chief Squyres  has been with the dept. for over 23 years.  He oversees the day to day operations of the Fire Dept. and handles the budgeting and administration   duties. Chief Squyres is active in the East Harris County Chiefs Association, the Harris County Fire Fighters Association and the Local Emergency Planning Committee. He also chairs an advisory committee on EMS training for San Jacinto College and is heavily involved with the regional trauma council. Assistant Chief Roland Hobbs has been with the JCFD. for over 22 years starting in what was then the junior fireman program. Roland oversees the operation of the fire dept. and is heavily involved in budget preparation and administration. Chief Hobbs  who is a paramedic, performs the quaility and assurance inpections on EMS reports for the State. Chief Hobbs who has attended the National Fire Academy himself, also has been instrumental in the training of the dept's employees especially a program for new recruit fire fighters. Deputy Chief Will Wyatt has been with the JCFD for over 11 years. Will assists in fire suppression operations and is in charge of public education and public relations. Chief Wyatt is Risk Watch Coordinator at Whittier Elementary School for the teachers and students involved in that program. Captain Jay Barkdull has been with the JCFDfor over 16 years. Captain Barkdull is over EMS operations. Captain Barkdull handles all state licensing requirements, supply orders, state training requirements and bio hazard compliance.  He also designed the computer software for the billing of patients. Captain John Carr has worked for the City of Jacinto City for over 3 years. Captain Carr oversees the  fleet maintenance program and handles bunker gear inspection and maintenance. Captain Carr also is instrumental in the purchase of new equipment and it's use.  He also does the ordering of station maintenance supplies. He may be contacted at jccarr@gte.net

Lieutenant Maurice Davis has been with the JCFD for over 3 years. Lt. Davis heads up incident reporting. He enters EMS reports and files the billing information with the appopriate agency. Lt. Daivs has also been instrumental as mutual aid liaison.  He may be contacted at

Lieutentant Edward Russell has been with the JCFD for a little over 3 years. Lt. Russelll who has a strong hazardous material background, heads the haz mat section of the dept. This includes Sara Title compliance, storage , incident mitigation and tank truck inspection. He may be contacted at emrussell@pdq.net

Lieutenant Jared Jackson, who is a state certified inspector, controls the fire code enforcement division of the fire dept. Lt. Jackson performs new occupancy inspections as well as business inspections for the dept. He also reviews plans for new construction for fire code compliance and life safety requirements. Safety Officer Wally Flemming has been with the JCFD for over 7 years. Wally, who has a strong industrial background, oversees compliance with applicable Federal Codes as well as the breathing air testing per the Texas Fire Commisison. Wally also functions as fire ground safety officer.
